Tango Suite                                                                                                   \nAllegro                                                                                                   \nAndante \nAllegro Vivace \n\nBeijing Guitar Duo \nPraised by the distinguished Classical Guitar Magazine for “having the star potential to serve as an inspiration to new generations of guitarists\,” the Beijing Guitar Duo made their New York debut at Carnegie Hall in 2010 and launched their career. concert international. \nFormed by guitarists Meng Su and Yameng Wang\, the Beijing Guitar Duo has performed around the world in venues such as the Concertgebouw\, the Palau de Musica\, the Tchaikovsky Hall and the Beijing National Theater. This season they will perform a concert tour of 12 cities in the States as well as other performances in Europe and China. The duo regularly collaborates with orchestras\, along with flutist Marina Piccinini\, guitarists Grigoryan Brothers and their mentor Manuel Barrueco on tour in Europe\, Australia\, Asia and the United States. \nThe Beijing guitar duo’s performances and recordings have impressed the public. Their debut CD\, Maracaípe\, received a Latin GRAMMY nomination for the title piece\, which was dedicated to them by renowned guitarist/composer Sérgio Assad. Their second CD\, Bach to Tan Dun\, has been widely recognized for the world premiere recording of Tan Dun’s Eight Memories in Watercolor\, specially arranged for the duo by Manuel Barrueco. In May 2014\, a trio recording was released\, China West\, with Maestro Barrueco. In November 2022 they will record a new CD. \nMeng Su and Yameng Wang were born in the coastal city of Qingdao\, China. Su’s accolades include wins at the Vienna Youth Guitar Competition and the Christopher Parkening Guitar Competition\, while Wang was the youngest guitarist to win the Tokyo International Guitar Competition at the age of 12\, and was invited by Radio France to perform at the prestigious International Guitar Art Week in Paris at age 14. Both artists had given solo recitals in China and abroad\, and had made recordings before forming the duo. \nIn addition to giving concerts\, the duo share a love of teaching that leads them to give master classes at the world’s leading conservatories. The duo was “Artists-in-residence” from 2011 to 2015 in the “San Francisco Performances Series”\, where they performed community activities\, performances and master classes in public schools and at the San Francisco Conservatory.
