In 1994\, he graduated from Alberto Ponce’s class with a *Licence de Concert* from the École Normale de Musique de Paris\, and in 1996\, he earned the first prize at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris (CNSMDP). \nIn 1997\, he was awarded first prize at the 15th International Concert Artist Competition of the Guitar Foundation of America\, held that year in La Jolla\, California.
