SUMMARY:LA PARTIDA. ÍTACA ADDA·SIMFÒNICA ALICANTE JOSEP VICENT\, DIRECTOR TITULAR MARTÍN GARCÍA GARCÍA\, PIANO
DESCRIPTION:T1. A1\nSALE OF INDIVIDUAL ENTRY: From August 1\, 2025 \n\nXIMO CANO. Composer\nHe was born in La Nucia (Alicante) in June 1963. He graduated in Physics from the University of Valencia\, specializing in Electricity\, Electronics\, and Computer Science. He studied tuba with Jesús Juan Oriola and composition with maestros Ramón Ramos and Joan Enric Canet at the Óscar Esplá Conservatory of Music in Alicante. \nHe has written a wide variety of works\, from tonal to experimental. His output for band is primarily tonal\, although in works such as (De) Construccions he moves toward a more avant-garde style. Of particular note here are works such as Manual del perfecte inoportú\, Hores d’estiu\, Petit concert para tuba y banda\, Viatges\, and Colau. \nWithin the more experimental vein\, his concern for standardizing the resources of indigenous music\, combined with his scientific training\, led him to combine a folkloric foundation with a mathematical approach\, always in search of Mediterranean sounds that\, while familiar to the listener\, remain devoid of obviousness. \nHe has written works for performers such as Xelo Giner\, Luis Muñiz\, Madrid Cámara\, and Quintet de Metalls “Al Vent.” Instrumental Group of Valencia\, “Castelló XXI” ensemble*\, or Interval Chamber. In 2004\, he was part of the group of composers responsible for the opera 1714. Món de guerres\, with libretto by Albert Mestres and musical direction by Josep Vicent. \nIn 2007\, he was one of the composers selected for the 4×4 monographic concert series of new music\, held in Barcelona. The music for this monographic concert is recorded on the CD Escala de blaus. His entire musical output for tuba has been recorded by Vicent López and Adolfo García. \n\nADDA·SIMFÒNICA ALICANTE\n4 Nominations to the GRAMMY® AWARDS and Latin GRAMMY® 2023 & 2024. Two-time winner at the Spanish Academy of Music Awards. \nSymphony orchestra of the Valencia Region Foundation – ADDA\, based at ADDA (Alicante Provincial Council Concert Hall)\, in a Mediterranean city where the sun shines all year round\, ADDA·SIMFÒNICA ALICANTE has become an integral part of the music scene in the Valencia Region\, performing as well at Palau de les Arts Reina Sofía and throughout Spain\, with performances at festivals all over the country\, making their international debut in 2022 with an acclaimed doble concert in Berlin and at Ljubljana and Berlioz Festivals. ADDA·Simfònica’s musical personality reflects that of its founder and chief conductor Josep Vicent. Under his baton\, the orchestra takes the audience on an emotional and inspirational journey in every concert. \nThe orchestra maintains an intense activity in its Concert Season\, sharing programming with the most renowned orchestras\, conductors and soloists in the world. Hand in hand with chief conductor Josep Vicent\, await outstanding projects at Palau de la Música in Barcelona and with La Fura dels Baus at the Ljubljana Festival\, in addition to an exciting tour through Japan. \nWhile ADDA·Simfònica’s capacity for innovation\, dynamism\, stylistic versatility and talent have impressed concert hall audiences\, this socially committed ensemble has performed in many other settings\, collaborating on educational projects with Títeres Etcétera or giving performances in care homes and hospitals across Alicante province. It has launched ground- breaking initiatives focused on contemporary music\, as well as a series of immersive Digital Albums. The orchestra has released more than 15 albums and other audio-visual products for a number of labels like Warner Classics\, Aria Classics\, Parma Recordings\, Discmedi or IMM Klassik. Four albums have been awarded the prestigious “Melómano de Oro”\, and has been nominated for two consecutive years for the Latin GRAMMY and the american GRAMMY AWARDS 2023 & 2024 for the albums “Ritmo\, The Chick Corea Symphony Tribute” and “Latin Rites”. \nADDA·SIMFÒNICA ALICANTE has performed alongside extraordinary conductors and soloists\, such as Valery Gergiev\, María João Pires\, Javier Perianes\, Paquito D’Rivera\, las Hermanas Labèque\, Joaquín Riquelme\, Juan Pérez Floristán\, Ginesa Ortega\, Denis Kozhukhin\, Ángeles Blancas\, Ramón Vargas\, Pacho Flores\, Spanish Brass\, Jurjen Hempel\, Carles Magraner\, Joaquín Achúcarro\, Juan Manuel Cañizares or Marina Heredia\, among many others. \nRemarkable projects led by chief conductor Josep Vicent include opera and stage productions designed jointly with Emilio Sagi or Carlus Padrissa and La Fura dels Baus (El Amor Brujo\, Carmen\, La Bohème\, The Creation\, Carmina Burana\, Pastoral for the Planet\, etc.); the “Chick Corea Symphony Tribute”; all of Stravinsky’s ballets in audio-visual format; or world premieres of works by composers Nicola Campogrande\, Óscar Navarro\, Jesse Passenier\, Michael Nyman\, Vicent Egea\, Ximo Cano\, David Mora\, Per Egland and Jesús Mula. With an unstoppable artistic career that music critics define as “a world-class instrument that spreads enthusiasm\, with an energy and sound within the reach of very few orchestras”\, ADDA SIMFÒNICA ALICANTE and its chief conductor Josep Vicent have become an essential cultural mark. \n\nMARTÍN GARCÍA GARCÍA.
