ADDA SIMFÒNICA ALICANTE
Nominated for the GRAMMY® and Latin GRAMMY®
Twice awarded by the Academy of Music of Spain

The permanent symphony orchestra of the “Fundación de la Comunitat Valenciana – ADDA”, and at the same time the resident orchestra of the Auditorio de la Diputación de Alicante, it has swiftly become an important part of Spanish musical life since its creation in 2018. Surrounded by the light of the Mediterranean coast, ADDA·SIMFÒNICA ALICANTE stands out for its unique sonic personality, a reflection of its founder and chief conductor Josep Vicent. An “author’s orchestra” capable of awakening emotion and inspiration in every concert.

Its regular season combines high-level symphonic series with world-renowned artists, together with international projects such as the recent Asian tour (double concert at Suntory Hall in Tokyo and Osaka), the Christmas Concert at the Palau de la Música in Barcelona, staged productions at the Ljubljana and Berlioz festivals, and upcoming debuts in Budapest and Sofia.

The orchestra innovates through stylistic versatility, the talent of its musicians, and social commitment: educational and staged activities, concerts in care homes, social centres, and hospitals. Its renewing hallmark can be seen in its interpretation of the music of our time, world premieres, and staged productions with Emilio Sagi or La Fura dels Baus (El amor brujo, Carmen, La Bohème, La Creación, Carmina Burana, Pastoral for the Planet). Also noteworthy are the Symphonic Jazz of the “Chick Corea Symphony Tribute” project and the complete audiovisual version of Stravinsky’s ballets.

Its discographic and audiovisual output (Warner Classics, Aria Classics, Parma Recordings, Discmedi, IMM Klassik) has received four Melómano de Oro awards, and multiple GRAMMY and Latin GRAMMY nominations. Renowned artists such as Valery Gergiev, María João Pires, Javier Perianes, Paquito D’Rivera, Pablo Sainz-Villegas, Katia and Marielle Labèque, Denis Kozhukhin, and Joaquín Achúcarro have left their mark on its stages.

With its unstoppable artistic trajectory, critics define it as “a world-class instrument that spreads enthusiasm, with an energy and a sound within the reach of very few orchestras”; ADDA·SIMFÒNICA ALICANTE and its chief conductor Josep Vicent have become an essential cultural brand of their territory.
