The Little Minstrel Girl is an early-music concert for children and family audiences— a show that brings together theatre, storytelling, puppetry and live music, performed with historical instruments and set in the Middle Ages.

The Little Minstrel Girl is a child living in the Middle Ages. In her adventures, she will meet different figures from History who tell us how music was made, how it was played, how it was sung…

A musical journey into the medieval world, where the audience learns about music, rhythms and stories of medieval artists and musicians.

Emilio Villalba, a multi-instrumentalist specializing in Early Music, together with Sara Marina, is dedicated to the recovery and dissemination of historical music from the 11th to the 16th centuries: medieval, Andalusi and Sephardic music; Spanish Renaissance music; and Andalusian folk traditions.

Emilio Villalba and Sara Marina offer a wide cultural programme for all audiences, with the aim of sharing, discovering and enjoying our valuable cultural heritage. In their performances they combine music, narration, poetry and theatre.

The great variety of historical instruments they use to interpret early repertories turns their concerts into a true on-stage “sound museum”: violas, vihuelas, psalteries, hurdy-gurdy, lutes, keyboard instruments…
