Born in 1973, Judicaël Perroy began his guitar studies at the age of 7 at the Paris Municipal Conservatory. Between 1983 and 1988, he studied with Delia Estrada and Raymond Gratien at the Aulnay-sous-Bois National School, graduating at the top of his class with the highest honors, awarded unanimously by the jury. At age 11, Perroy performed two Vivaldi concertos as a soloist with the Ensemble Instrumental du Mans, conducted by André Girard. Later, Roberto Aussel and Daniel Lavialle played a fundamental role in Perroy’s artistic development. In 1994, he graduated from Alberto Ponce’s class with a *Licence de Concert* from the École Normale de Musique de Paris, and in 1996, he earned the first prize at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris (CNSMDP).
In 1997, he was awarded first prize at the 15th International Concert Artist Competition of the Guitar Foundation of America, held that year in La Jolla, California. This achievement marked the beginning of an international career that has led him to perform in venues such as the Tchaikovsky Concert Hall in Moscow, the National Concert Hall in Taipei, the Teatro de la República in Mexico, and the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam.
Perroy has recorded ten full-length albums, two of which are dedicated to the works of Johann Sebastian Bach and Manuel María Ponce (both released by Naxos). He has also recorded a recital album featuring premiere performances of works by Ourkouzounov and Bogdanović (released by GHA in 2024).
As a highly sought-after teacher, Perroy has been invited to give masterclasses at leading universities and conservatories around the world. Many of his students have won top prizes in international competitions. He has held faculty positions at the École Supérieure de Musique et de Danse in Lille since 2012, at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music from 2017 to 2020 (succeeding Sérgio Assad), and at the Haute École de Musique de Genève since September 2020 (succeeding Dušan Bogdanović).
