The fusion of Flamenco and Jazz reaches a new dimension through this Big Band. Led by Spanish-Dutch saxophonist Bernard van Rossum and awarded the “Rogier van Otterloo Award 2022,” it has appeared at festivals such as the North Sea Festival (NL), Jazz San Javier, and Makhanda Jazz (South Africa), among others.
Across their three released albums, they have collaborated with flamenco exponents such as Antonio Serrano, Carles Benavent, David de Jacoba, and Rafael de Utrera.
After more than ten years of artistic trajectory, van Rossum returns to FIJAZZ with his acclaimed big band, bringing together some of the most outstanding young figures in today’s flamenco and jazz scene, including singer María Marín, virtuoso pianist Xavi Torres, and flamenco dancer Karen Lugo.
