Synopsis
With Plebeian dances we want to make known a forgotten part of the popular music of the Golden Age: the musical practice of the women of the most popular social strata who met to play, sing and dance clandestinely. Dances such as the zarabanda, the jácaras, villanos, passacaglias, folias and marionas coexist in this show with flamenco and jazz, performed by Èlia Casanova and La Tendresa, with the staging and movement of Societat Doctor Alonso and the costumes of Jorge Dutor.
This is a bid to bring early music closer to contemporaneity, deconstructing the usual format of a baroque music concert to turn it into a hybrid that allows us to enjoy the music and its interpretation, while understanding other intrinsic aspects of the time in which it was created.
