A Tribute to Bill Evans
Niño Josele, flamenco guitar
Dani Noel, double bass
Daniel García Bruno, drums
Guest artist: Raynald Colom, trumpet
Twenty years after its release, Paz returns to the stage as a reinterpretation of Bill Evans’s musical universe through Niño Josele’s perspective. In this project, flamenco guitar assumes the role of the piano, translating its harmonic richness into a language of its own.
Conceived as a jazz project rather than a fusion project, the trio creates an intimate and open sonic space in which improvisation and interaction are essential. The repertoire combines pieces from the original album with new readings, in a balance between structure and freedom.
The result is a delicate and deeply expressive proposal that reveals music’s ability to build bridges between traditions from a personal and contemporary voice.
More than a reinterpretation, Paz functions as a shift in perspective: Evans’s language is not transferred, but transformed. The guitar does not imitate the piano, but reimagines it through its own sonic material, generating a subtle tension between memory and present that defines the character of the concert.
